Abstract

Corneal tattooing or keratopigmentation (KTP) is a very useful method for aesthetic purposes to camouflage white corneal scars in eyes with no visual potential. Various techniques of KTP exist, dyes are applied to the anterior stroma following epithelial debridement or trans-epithelial needle puncture. In this case report we intend to report outcome in terms of colour distribution and stability by using KTP technique where dye is applied directly into the stroma. In conclusion, corneal tattooing employing stromal puncture technique in extremely adhered scarred cornea is cosmetically promising but it requires proper preoperative assessment and intraoperative graded stromal puncturing makes it an efficient and technically demanding.
