Abstract

The ability to make decisions is an important thing and needs to be trained in learning, including mathematics. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability to make decisions while learning mathematics. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subject of this study was all class VII D students in one of the junior high schools in Sungai Penuh City, totaling 28 people. The instruments used in this study are in the form of tests, observations, and documentation. The data obtained is then analyzed in a way that the data is grouped based on the problem being solved by the choice and the reasons that tend to be commonly chosen. The data is presented in the form of analysis of test results given regarding decision-making abilities, but is more focused on the choices and reasons given by students. As for the results of the study, students can make decisions by choosing the most appropriate alternative, accompanied by arguments. Recommendations from researchers are needed so that educators can practice decision-making skills on different materials.
