Abstract

Introduction: There have been significant advances in the management of training loads in elite sport including Australian Rules Football (ARF). Sub-elite teams may try to replicate this best practice approach, but are limited by time, funding, and resources, influencing the capacity of players to train and recover. The impact of pre-season training loads on in-season injury rates in sub-elite ARF has not been established in the current literature.
