Abstract

Hypertension is still a health problem faced by the elderly related to changes in the cardiovascular system, which if left unchecked will interfere with the function of other organs. So that the issue arises where feelings of anxiety and depression are experienced by the elderly. This study aims to determine the level of anxiety on the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension. This type of research is quantitative, with a cross sectional design where data collection for independent and dependent variables is carried out at the same time. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. Research respondents were 40 elderly hypertension. The research was conducted from May to August 2021 in Limbangan District, Kendal, Central Java. The test analysis method used is Rank Spearman. There is a relationship between the level of anxiety and the quality of life of the elderly with hypertension. The results of the analysis obtained p value = 0.000 <0.05, the coefficient value or r value = 0.602 indicates a strong relationship with a negative direction which means that the higher the level of anxiety, the lower the level of quality of life. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of anxiety on the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension in Limbangan Village, Kendal Regency.
