Abstract

This study aims to determine the physiological characteristics of sweet corn in conditions of water shortage and application of Potassium fertilizer. This research was conducted using 2-factor RAL with three replications. The first factor is optimum conditions (control) and water shortage conditions, while the second factor is: 200 kg KCL/ha, 250 kg KCL/ha and 300 kg KCL/ha. Parameters for observation consisted of photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductivity and CO2 concentration in cells which were carried out on plants aged 30 HST and 60 HST. The results showed that the lack of water in sweet corn decreased all physiological parameters, the application of potassium fertilizer did not have a significant effect on each parameter and the treatment interactions did not improve the physiological characteristics of sweet corn plants.
