Abstract
This chapter presents an overview on the classification and translation of the book of Isaiah. It discusses the literary criticism and form and genre criticism in the book of Isaiah. The text in the book of Isaiah consists of four stitches. These can be grouped into two stanzas, each with two stitches. The accents of the first two stitches are 3+2. The position of the text at the top of Deutero book has its importance for a closer determination of the species. The text will be most likely understood as a heading and title for all the following Scripture. It is thus characterized as a word of comfort on behalf of God because of the divine message. Theologically the prologue of the opinion did the self-revelation of God's glory in a visionary and supernatural manner.
