Abstract

Arcyria cinerea (Bull.) Pers. Roberts (1898) has listed a specimen (Roberts No. 8, Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas) as A. albida which was later annotated as A. cinerea by T. E. Brooks. Brooks (1941a) has listed this species from Riley, Douglas, Geary, and Edwards counties. Collections have also been made by R. H. Thompson from Douglas Co. (K-11), and by the author from Leavenworth Co. (782, 784), Doniphan Co. (793, 796). A. denudata (L.) Wettst. Brooks (1941a) listed this species from Riley, Harvey, Douglas, and Geary counties. R. H. Thompson has subsequently collected this from Douglas Co. (K-8). A. magna Rex. Brooks (1941a) reported this species from Riley and Geary counties. This species was again collected by Thompson from Douglas Co. (K-9). A. oerstedtii Rost. This species, occurring on decaying wood, was collected June 24, 1954, 4 mi. N. of Troy, Doniphan County (765a). Badhamia utricularis (Bull.) Berk. was found on decaying wood, June 19, 1954, in the bottom land along the Missouri River east of Kickapoo, Leavenworth County (790). Hemitrichia clavata (Pers.) Rost. This species was found to be quite abundant on decaying wood in the Missouri River bottom land at the same time and in the same location as the above collection (798).
