Abstract

The research began with the diagnosis studies to identify and analyze students’ problems in learning Physics 1 based on the problem analysis from the diagnostic test answering sheets sample of 217 students enrolled in the course. Overall findings of the study showed that students facing problem in some aspects: analyze the graph, interpret the algebraic equations to physics concept, relates the physics concepts with the real phenomena, mathematical calculations, comparing the different phenomena and relates with physics concepts, do not know how to apply physics concept. This research is important to analyze students' problems in physics learning, besides to identify and overcome students' ambiguity in understanding the concept of physics. To overcome students' problem in Physics 1 study suggested learning physics via multimedia element to activate students' senses to see, appreciate and observe the relationship of a concept, the principle of physics with real-world phenomena. This allows students to relate the relationship between various physical quantities based on the physics phenomenon in everyday life.
