Abstract
Steam ejector refrigerator is refrigeration system uses dumped energy to generate useful refrigeration. Cycle steam is refrigeration's ejector utilizing water fluid as refrigerant so more environmentally friendly. Use steam ejector evaluated effective at other systems equal because not many need for example big energy. Steam jet ejector refrigeration system have part consist of : boiler, ejector, condensor and evaporator. Meanwhile, part steam ejector consist of : primary nozzle, mixing chamber, throat and subsonic diffuser. Ejector is the most important part to the performance of this cycle, the ejector performance can be seen from the large value of the entrainment ratio. Entrainment ratio is the ratio between the mass flow rate from the boiler with the mass flow rate from the evaporator. Increasing the value of entrainment ratio can increasing the value of COP from a refrigeration system. therefore done by design and variation research of part ejector. In this research, experiment was done by modification the corner of mixing chamber for 3,5°, 5°, 7°, 13°. ejector and also by varying the operation pressure of the boiler at pressure 5 kg/cm 2 , 4 kg/cm 2 dan 3 kg/cm 2 . The results of the experiment show that the entrainment ratio optimum 0,71 in angle for 7° at boiler pressure 5 kg/ cm 2 .
