Abstract

Kaizen-Educational (Kaizen-Ed) is a structured group counseling model that offers both the opportunity to increase self- awareness in terms of strengths and weaknesses analysis through peer and self-evaluations and collaborative group experience to address personal concerns. This group is grounded on Japanese Kai-Zen philosophy and combines Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive domains with Psychodramatic Techniques. Kaizen- Ed group counseling aims at enhancing members’ willingness of change and involvement to group work by promoting self-awareness and personal discipline prior to the group work via Online-Awareness & Motivation-Survey (OAMS). Each session of Kaizen-Ed group counseling is structured systematically within the framework of Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Domain and enriched by psychodramatic techniques. This article suggests a new model of “cognitive analysis with experiential involvement” group counseling which may be a compelling alternative and pre sents an overview of university-based implication of this model.
