Abstract
In this paper the performance of fluid power actuators and electric motors on their specification listed in the current catalogs has been surveyed and evaluated. The rated power and rated torque is nearly proportional to the actuators mass and momentum inertia, respectively. The electric motors develop into high performance with large rated torque and smaller momentum inertia. Newly developed small size of the hydraulic actuator is also calculated the performance index and plotted in figures of characteristics. The compact size of hydraulic actuator has great potential with the power rate or quick response.
