Abstract
The author deals with the data contained in the Atlas nářečí českého jazyka – krácení vokálů publication. Using the old and obsolete methodology, the authors of Atlas claim that the differences in quantity can be attributed to various post-Common Slavic prosodic processes. The author of the presented text examines the mixed bag of data in Atlas and proposes that the quantitative differences are connected to the development of quantity in paradigms.
