Abstract

Based on a comparison of German and Russian historiography of the problem of the German conservative anti-Hitler Resistance, the article examines the main trends in modern historiography of the German Resistance to Hitler. A definition of the concept “Resistance” is given. The Anti-Hitler Resistance is considered as a socio-political movement, the motives of which were not only moral factors (“Rise of Conscience”), but also realpolitik, influencing the process of “overcoming the past”.
