Abstract

Annotation Purpose. Systematization and generalization of research on modern technologies of growing and harvesting potatoes and creating a new design of a rotary root-harvesting machine. Methods. In the process of research, general research methods were used (observation, comparison, analysis, method of expert assessments, patent search). Results. The expediency of using a rotary root-harvesting machine, which reduces soil supply and improves the separation of tubers from the soil with rubberized fingers, separation of tubers, which reduces their mechanical damage, provides better storage of potatoes, and reduces the number of separators and increases unit productivity. Conclusions 1. The rational layout scheme of the proposed toothed discs with cutting edges of ground hooks and the cylindroid shape of the plowshare of the root-cart harvester is determined, as a result of which the potato pile feeding to the rotary and bar separating device is reduced, providing the possibility of crushing the layer and separation of tubers from the ground by rubberized fingers of the rotor. 2. It is established that under the conditions of ensuring quality separation indicators on the rotary soil separator with rubber rotor fingers, the increase of operational productivity, technological reliability of the rotary root-harvesting machine and reduction of its traction resistance are achieved. 3. Rotary root-harvesting machine can be used for digging potatoes, table beets, onions, turnips and other spherical root-tubers. Keywords: potatoes, potato harvesting equipment, technology, digging working body, ploughshare, toothed disk, rotor, separation.
