Abstract

A study of the stress-strain state of ball pistons was made in order to ensure the high technical characteristics of hydrostatic drives for equipping of advanced tank transmissions. These pistons are in contact with a stator ring. A finite element model with variable design parameters has been developed to determine the stress-strain state of ball pistons. A surface layer with a variable modulus of material elasticity is introduced to simulate the contact stiffness of surface layer. The hold down pressure of the ball piston against the bearing track also varies during research. The regularities of variable parameters influence on the strength of ball pistons are established basing on the analysis of the calculation results. Recommendations to increase the level of technical solutions have been developed.
