Abstract
Correction for preferred orientation of crystallites using simple empirical functions has been extended for structure analysis of strongly textured materials by the method called joint texture refinement. The method is based on simultaneous fitting of calculated intensities to the whole set of intensities measured at several sample inclinations. Thin films of zinc and a powder sample of brucite have been used as testing materials with a modified version of the program POWLS.
