Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.The development of marine economy is closely related to the economic development of surrounding areas. Promoting the development of the economy of the entire area by adjusting the marine industry structure has become an important impetus for promoting the economy of coastal areas. This paper takes the Yangtze River Delta coastal area as the subject and construct a model to study the joint development of the marine industry and the regional economy. The research results show that the marine economy of Yangtze River Delta has developed rapidly and contributed greatly to the development of the economy of the entire area; the tertiary industry takes the highest proportion in the marine industry structure, and it plays the largest role in it; there is a close relationship between the output value of marine industry and the output value of regional economy. Each 1% increase in the output value of the marine industry will lead to a 0.635439% increase in output of regional economy. The research results provide useful reference and guidance for the economic development of other coastal areas in China.
