Simple percentages were used, alongside chi-square to analyze the data. The result of the analysis shows that level of education has a significant effect on the payment structure of an academic librarian. This shows that the higher the education the more the job becomes satisfactory. Also the result shows that the status of an academic librarian is greatly influences the kind of welfare package receives from the institutions i.e. welfare packages could affect the job satisfaction of an academic librarian most especially the one with low status. The result shows that most senior and principal librarians are more satisfied with their job than the low cadre academic librarian. The result also shows that to render effective services in academic libraries depend on the human resources.
