Abstract
Capsule Summary•Melanoma incidence is climbing without a decrease in mortality.•White patients make up the majority of patients with melanoma, but minority counterparts have worse survival outcomes and are given a diagnosis at later stages.•The disparities in health outcomes for minorities present a need for more awareness among providers to improve survival. How did this article change the practice of dermatology?Although melanoma is often considered a disease of white patients, minority patients are diagnosed later in their disease course and have worse survival. This points to the need to increase awareness and education in these minority groups.1
