Abstract

In power generation plants, there are many problems by which vibration is made a cause, and fluidelastic vibration is a phenomenon which it must take care. There are many U-bent tubes in steam generators, and fluidelastic vibration may occur. Originally, fluidelastic vibration is considered a problem which vibrates in cross-flow. Then it had been taken measures not to vibrate in the steam generator of power generation plants. However, fluidelastic vibration in the in-flow direction has recently been observed on U-bent tubes. Since there is still little data of in-flow, we measured the in-flow instability for a future design guideline.
