Ivan Solonevich – the Destroyer of “the Legend of Peter”

Abstract

The author of the article examines I.L. Solonevich’s interpretation of Peter I’s activity. He shows that on the basis of the reconstruction of authentic Russian political tradition of the “popular monarchy” and historical analysis, I.L. Solonevich convincingly destroyed the “legend of Peter I”. The adequate understanding of the well-known historical facts also allows us to reveal the “mechanism” of the destruction of Russian civilization through the aggressive introduction of Western innovations. It’s very important to understand this universal destructive strategy in order to develop “immunity” to it in the future. It’s essential to gain a better insight of the traditional “models” of deceiving and destroying Russia, this understanding should become part of Russian historical memory and should be embedded in the modern Russian historical consciousness, because the real revival of the Russian people and the viability of Russia as a state depend on it.
