Abstract
A 46-year-old obese male was admitted after complaining of a severe headache that had begun about 1 week before presentation. The pain originated in the occiput and radiated forward towards the right. The patient denied any new visual complaints, fever, confusion, or neck stiffness. He had no history of seizure disorder or neurologic illnesses. Several weeks earlier, he had been examined on an outpatient basis for similar symptoms and been given a prescription for amoxicillin suspension, which was to be instilled into the ear.
