Abstract

The article is devoted to the stages of transformation and formation of the Kazakh variant of fertility in the context of socio-political and socio-economic changes that accompanied the development of the republic in the second half of the 20th - first quarter of the 21st centuries. The ethnodemographic and socio-cultural reasons for the preservation of high birth rates of the Kazakh ethnic group, formed in the Soviet period of history, are considered. The analysis of the prospects for the preservation of currently fixed reproductive trends in the conditions of rapid urbanization of Kazakhs is given.
