Abstract

The process of organising customs control of foreign trade operations in the context of an ongoing global pandemic and the urgent need to provide food is an important one. Here, we analyse the methodology of non-tariff regulation of foreign economic activity and the interaction between the authorised bodies of Uzbekistan state administrations in this process. The role and place of customs examination in the process of certification of foreign trade goods is explored, including the participation of customs experts from the Central Customs Laboratory. This paper outlines the issues involved in the overall customs clearance process as it relates to the identification of controlled goods, and identifies areas for improvement.
