Abstract

An investigation was made of the selective dissociation of 33SF6 in a natural isotopic mixture in the temperature range 123–293°K. By cooling the gas, it was possible to achieve a degree of separation in the dissociation products q(33/32)≈5 for the dissociation of 33SF6( in the optimal temperature range 170–190°K. The measured values of the dissociation parameters indicate that it is quite feasible to develop an efficient 33S enrichment process yielding weighable amounts.
