Abstract

Oxygen isotope effect in manganites (cuprates) is caused by the dynamic Jahn–Teller effect on the bridging oxygen ion (e.g., the ion between Mn3+ and Mn4+ in manganites). This effect leads also to the vibronic reduction and effective decrease of the ferromagnetic transition temperature.
