Abstract

Effective interactions determined from closed-shell-plus-two-particle spectra have a charge dependence which predicts isospin mixing for more complicated nuclei. We infer the isospin mixing in $A=44,46,48,\mathrm{and} 52$ on the basis of the observed $A=42$ spectra. Agreement with experimental data is reasonable in four out of six cases; the best example is $^{44}\mathrm{Sc}$, where we verify that the $n\ensuremath{-}p$ effective residual interaction is stronger than the $n\ensuremath{-}n$ interaction. We also compare predictions to experiment for isospin mixing in $A=20 \mathrm{and} 24$, based on the charge dependence seen in the $A=18$ spectrum.
