Abstract

In this work, a new type of modified Beta zeolite with the rare-earth element (ree) was developed for isomerization of glucose-to-fructose and achieved a good catalytic effect. The results showed that Yb-Beta zeolite had the highest yield of fructose compared to other modified Beta zeolites under the same reaction conditions. Experimental conditions were optimized in this study, and under the best reaction conditions (150 °C,180▒min, pH = 7), Yb-Beta zeolite obtained the maximum fructose yield of 27.8%, which was better than other modified Beta zeolites. This study provided a new idea for the chemical catalytic isomerization of glucose to fructose.
