Abstract

Isolation of mononuclear cells (MNC) does not belong to the set of molecular procedures, however, it is the first step of isolation of nucleic acids from peripheral blood or bone marrow in many protocols used for molecular analyses in hemato-oncological diseases. In this chapter, the protocol for isolation of MNCs by density gradient centrifugation is presented. This basic protocol might be subjected to modifications, depending on the specific needs of particular applications.
