Abstract

The present study aimed to the isolation, molecular identification and biological properties of endophytic bacterium Bacillus haynesii XJB-6 associated with the medicinal plant Vernonia anthelmintica stem. Isolated bacterial strain identification was based on 16S rrna gene sequence analysis and comparison with similar sequences from genbank. The 16S rrna gene sequence similarities 99.26% of endophytic bacterium isolated from the stem of V. Anthelmintica showed that the Bacillus haynesii. Crude ethyl acetate extract of B. Haynesii XJB-6 increased melanin synthesis in murine B16 cells in a dose-dependent manner.
