Abstract
Islet autoimmunity is not only the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes,but also a presentation of type 2 diabetes onset.In recent study,islet autoantibodies,pro-inflammatory cytokines and islet-reactive T cells are positive in type 2 diabetic patients who demonstrate severe insulin resistance and β cell functional demise.These immune and inflammatory cytokines are key factors for the development of islet autoimmune response as well as the pathogenesis of chronic inflammation in type 2 diabetes.Therefore,studying on the relationship between islet autoimmunity and type 2 diabetes will provide treatment for this disease with new idea.
