Abstract

The article focuses on the scientists' efforts in the past decade to find the world's heaviest element. It refers to the discovery of oganesson in 2006 by a Russian-American research team using a particle accelerator in Dubna, Russia. It also explores the island of stability describing special arrangements of protons and neutrons that makes an element stable.
