Abstract

In the most recent issues of IEEE electrification Magazine</i> , two technologies at the component level for inverter-based renewable grid integration have been examined: large-scale battery energy storage and grid-forming inverter control. In this September 2022 issue, Andy Hoke and Vahan Gevorgian, two senior researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will offer a system-level examination on the planning and operation of island grids with extremely high renewable penetrations.
