Abstract

In spite of respective growth for the Chinese economy, some fear it will fall into the middle-income trap and see its growth rate drop. This article examines factors for such a slowdown in China including undervalued exchange rates, high investment rates, and impacts of unfavorable demographic conditions. Finally, the author discusses prospects for slowdown in all the BRICS countries.
