Abstract
. Is it possible, or even mandatory, to confront the unspeakable? The scenes of ferocious destruction of the lives of the Palestinian people have been the dominant protagonists of the international scenario for more than one year without any credible sign of a concrete solution. The world has been the powerless and connivent spectator of what is widely recognised as an exemplary genocide. What has been documented as violation of even the most fundamental human rights has made the repetitive formal condemnations an apparently useless exercise, in front of evidences which defy any definition. What is happening is unspeakable because if coincides with the cancellation of our human society. The only sign of resistance and dignity are the massive protests which are often violently repressed, even in the University campuses. We have included this reflection into the section dedicated to methodology, to underline that for all those working in the field of health (who have also been one of the preferred targets of the genocidal process), the people of Palestine together with all countries and human groups expelled from their rights to life must become the urgent, mandatory, global reminder of the fact that the priorities and the advances in knowledge are made senseless if peace, in all its expressions, continues to be a forbidden word.
