Abstract

Two cases of open irreducible dislocation of the distal interphalangeal joint are reported. One case involved the ring finger, and the other involved the thumb. The cause of irreducibility in both cases was an entrapment of the flexor digitorum profundus tendon behind the ulnar condyle of the adjacent phalanx.
