Abstract

OVERVIEW:The development and commercial acceptance of the Ground Proximity Warning System was the culmination of years of product innovation and improvement by a small group of Honeywell engineers. Its success illustrates the soundness of such traditional innovation “rules” as “encourage your mavericks,” “get a champion,” “keep a low profile,” and “minimize the risks.”
