Abstract

Abstract The Iraqi solar house cooling season thermal performance was extensively analysed in this study. The house has a total area of 600 m 2 with solar air-conditioned area of 400 m 2 . In its design both passive and active criteria were considered. The performance results show the great ability of the system to cover the cooling load. The season-integrated solar-collected efficiency was 48.8%, the solar fraction to the load was 51.0% and the overall absorption chiller coefficient of performance was 44.3%.
