Abstract
Room temperature polarised infrared reflectance measurements have been made on several crystal phases of the BEDT-TTF salts including materials from the semiconducting α′ phase, the metallic superconductor β phase and the metallic ß″ phase. Kramers-Kronig analysis has been used to derive the frequency dependent conductivity from the reflectivity. Interband and intraband electronic excitations contribute to the conductivity as well as intramolecular phonons. A comparison is made among the phases of the form of the stacking axis optical conductivity in the vibrational region.
