Abstract

The infrared and single crystal Raman spectra of ferroelectric langbeinites M2+Ni2(SO4)3(M+ = NH4, K) for different polarization geometries have been recorded and analysed. The temperature dependence of Raman spectra of (NH4)2Ni2(SO4)3 in the range 30°C-160°C has been measured and related to a structural phase transition in which SO4 tetrahedra are shifted and rotated.
