Abstract
Keep it simple! A simple silica gel immobilized nano-Ru catalyst was prepared using ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate as the solvent to dissolve RuCl 3 , as the template for the in situ formation of mesoporous silica gel and as the carbon source to build Ru C on/inside SiO 2 . The Ru/SiO 2 exhibited excellent catalytic activity and shape-selectivity in the selective hydrogenation of nitrobenzenes.
