Abstract
Analisamos processos de invenção e reinvenção da maranhensidade, mostrando que, em meados do século XX (1940-1960), o mito da Atenas Brasileira é reatualizado, o Maranhão e o maranhense são ressignificados a partir de temas e sentidos daquela construção imaginária: novas letras refletidas de velhas imagens e transformadas em revelações da maranhensidade.
