Abstract
The Low temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) is suitable backplane technology for the high resolution TFT LCD displays to smartphone applications. We have applied the LTPS technology for the new targets, an 8 inch 2K4K TFT LCD display with 30Hz frame rate driving and a 17.3inch 8K4K TFT LCD with 120Hz frame rate driving. Both developed displays having the shrinkage of channel width together with the thinner insulator for storage capacitor, provides high display quality in terms of vertical crosstalk and flicker. Precise fabrication processes at 1.5 mm level enables the shrinkage and the reduction of off current.
