Abstract
Sion Power will present breakthrough technology leading to the highest combination of specific energy and cycle life. In the core of this transformational energy storage solution is a protected metallic lithium anode with several levels of physical and chemical protection as well as surface protection of the positive electrode. Protection of negative and positive electrodes offers wide spectra of cell designs from specific energies of 620 Wh/kg at 270 cycles to 420 Wh/kg and cycle life exceeding 800 cycles. The presentation will discuss Sion Power’s technology approaches and the current state of energy density, cycle life, rate capability, area surface resistance, low-temperature performance, and thermal stability of Licerion® batteries.
