Abstract

With their increasing availability and rapid price decrease, clean electrons have been leading the way for our global decarbonization efforts. However clean electrons have limitations and cannot access certain sectors of our economy. Green hydrogen as a molecule has unique advantages over clean electrons in areas of chemical synthesis, heavy duty transportation, and long duration and cross sector energy storage. In this presentation I will share our past and latest work on hydroxide exchange membranes, electrocatalysis including electrochemical interface work, and the effort to develop a pure water-fed MW HEM electrolzyer stack.
