Invited commentary on “Clinical application of a reverse-island flap with two dorsal metacarpal arteries and dorsal metacarpal nerves in index- and middle-finger degloving injury repair and amputation reconstructione”

Abstract

I congratulate Lin et al.1 for their work describing the reverse-island flap with two dorsal metacarpal arteries and nerves. They succeed in obtaining a considerable sample of cases of the use of this flap to cover index and middle finger amputation reconstruction and degloving injuries distal to the palmar digital crease.
