Abstract
Since Zwelling et al. reported on anodized TiO2 nanotubes, many research groups have studied one-dimensional TiO2 nanotubes. This structure property can be controlled by pH, conductivity, fluoride concentration, base solution and applied potential and so on. TiO2 nanotubes are attracted attention owing to their variable function for use wide range applications such as photocatalyst, bio application, template and solar cell, etc. TiO2 nanotubes provide smooth electron pathway, less crystal defect to avoid electron recombination, high surface area for dye adsorption and the ability influence the adsorption and propagation of light. In this presentation we give an overview of the latest results on TiO2 nanotube and porous structures. We will discuss critical factors to grow highly aligned and high aspect ratio anodic TiO2 nanostructures and the morphological variation by anodization parameters and their advantage for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical applications.
