Abstract

Small and flat hills consisting of atomic or polyatomic layers can often be observed on the crystal faces grown from solutions. Our earlier work has predicted that in the surroundings of such growth hills, the distribution of the impurities incorporated into the crystals would be inhomogeneous. Using a spectrophotometric method, suitable for microanalysis, the expected inhomogeneous impurity distribution could be measured on KCl: Pb 2+ doped single crystals grown from solutions.
