Abstract

Multiuser multiple input multiple output system requires a low complexity precoding processing schemes especially with massive MIMO systems. This can be achieved by reducing the number of RF chains compared to the number of antennas. In this paper, beamformers for massive MU-MIMO with lower design complexity are simulated and compared to traditional beamforming design for millimeter wave communications. Also, an accurate channel model of millimeter wave (mmWave) is applied in the system simulation. Effects of multiple user interference and antenna array types on the spectral efficiency of the system are presented and compared for both analog and digital beamformers.
