Abstract

Wall widths in Permalloy films with thicknesses of 1 500 A and 2 600 A were determined by the profile match method and also from the contrast at wall center by high-voltage Lorentz microscopy. The effects of inelastic scattering on the divergent wall image were included in the estimates of the wall widths. The wall widths for energy loss parameters in the range 20 to 50 eV/1 000 A are in reasonable agreement with those predicted theoretically.
